Good Guys Go To Heaven is a 52-page photography zine by James Suarez documenting Thailand’s nightlife, street culture, and underground scenes between 2022 and 2024. Shot on a plastic half-frame film camera using Kodak Portra 400, the work captures raw, unfiltered moments across Bangkok, Pattaya, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, and Phuket.
Blending street photography with documentary storytelling, the zine moves beyond tourist imagery to reveal intimate, behind-the-scenes glimpses of nightlife culture—gogo bars, late-night streets, and the people who exist within them.
Grainy, immediate, and instinctive, the images embrace imperfection. The limitations of half-frame film photography become part of the visual language, creating a loose, candid aesthetic that reflects the unpredictability of nights that don’t follow a script.
